reminders
** We are now counting off for misuse of capital letters on the Spelling tests. Please make sure you remind your child when studying the spelling words. Each capital letter is -1 point on their tests. **
** For 2 Hour Delays, we will be sending students to classrooms at 9:45, and class resumes at 10:00.**
**Reading Homework: Your child needs to read at least 20 minutes every night, using the books given in their bags and log it on their sheet in order for them to receive credit that they completed it. If you are filling out the Towne Criers reading logs, the homework they complete can also be used to fill out in order for your child to get a reward at the end of every month from PTA.**
** We have started the Minute Math tests. Each child will complete the page as quickly as they can and then log how long it took them to complete it. We will be testing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If your child is struggling with the math facts, please make sure you help them study at home. We will start with adding zero, then adding 1, then 2 and so on. Once we have added all the way to 9, they will begin subtracting 1, then 2, and so on until they've reached subtracting 9 all the way to the end of the year.**
*Please check your child's homework folder every day. I send home important information as soon as I receive it from the office regarding PTA items or notes from other teachers or specialists that need a speedy response. I also send home reminders or updates and will soon be sending permission slips for upcoming field trips.*
- Please remember to bring a snack for your child every day.
- Our room is between 68-74 degrees, which can get pretty chilly sometimes. If you would like to have your child bring a light jacket to wear, please make sure it has their name on the tag.
- Please look at your child's behavior chart on their monthly calendar every day. Here is the color code for their behavior:
* Green- great job!
* Yellow- 1st warning, no punishments
* Teal/Aqua- 2nd warning, 10 minutes off recess, possible note home
* Dark Blue- 3rd warning, 15 minutes off recess and a note home
* Purple- 4th warning, 20 minutes off recess and a note home
* Black- Severe offense, straight to the principal's office and a call/note home
- Friday Folders need to be emptied every weekend and returned on Mondays.
- We are always in need of books for our classroom! If you would like to donate gently used books, we would greatly appreciate it for our classroom library! We also have a wish list on the Scholastic website. Our class code is NB6TV.
